Role Description The Junior Accountant role is a full time, on-site position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, including recording journal entries, processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and assisting with bank and account reconciliations.

Accountant will help prepare financial reports, maintain accurate ledgers, and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Responsibilities also include supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, organizing financial documentation, and responding to routine inquiries from internal stakeholders and external partners. The person in this role will collaborate with the finance team to improve processes, maintain data accuracy, and contribute to timely reporting.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as MS Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis).
- Solid numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Well-developed organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Relevant education such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Progress toward a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) is an asset.
- Prior co-op or internship experience in accounting or finance, ideally in manufacturing, retail, or logistics, is beneficial.
