Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our team for the Afternoon Shift. In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC laser cutting machines and other manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise in machine operation, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure precision and efficiency in our production processes.

Responsibilities:

· Previous working experience in a metal manufacturing environment is an asset

· Ability to operate laser equipment safely and efficiently

· Have previous knowledge of laser machines safety features and emergency stops

· Ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment

· Ability to check parts for acceptable conformance within specified limits

· Capable of communicating issues in both written and verbal forms

· Perform duties as required on daily & weekly maintenance schedules

· Capable of selecting the proper revision levels on the laser for the production requirement

· Ability to verify part conformity prior to the QA first off process

· Ensure part counts are performed and are correct

· Ability to follow the rejection process reporting all inconsistencies and details resulting in non-conforming product

· Other tasks as assigned by Leadhand or Plant Manager as required

· Afternoon shift is from 4:15pm to 2:15am, Monday to Thursday

Qualifications:





· Fiber laser experience is definitely an asset

· 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints

· Must have good math skills

· Capable of repetitive manual lifting of products as well as using overhead lifting devices

· Able to work in a team environment as well as independently

· Must demonstrate quality and attention to work details

· Can follow written and verbal instructions

· Shows exceptional people skills with a ‘can do’ attitude

· Has excellent attention to details along with great physical and mental capacity

Requirements:

A valid driver’s license or transportation required, as this position will be shared between Brantford and Cathcart ON locations, and Cathcart location is not on a bus route.
