Qi Integrated Health

Vancouver

Qi Integrated Health is seeking an experienced Lead Therapist for an upcoming clinical trial examining MDMA-assisted therapist self-experience.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside Principal Investigator Dr. Pamela Kryskow and collaborate with leaders from the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS).

The MAE1 study will offer eligible therapists an opportunity to experience MDMA within a legal, ethically approved, and clinically supported research setting. The study is intended to contribute to the responsible development of psychedelic-assisted therapy by exploring how carefully structured self-experience may inform therapist training and clinical practice.

The Lead Therapist will provide clinical leadership to the study’s therapeutic team and help ensure that participant care is delivered safely, consistently, and in accordance with the study protocol, ethical approvals, applicable regulations, and the values of Qi Integrated Health.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the study’s therapeutic team.
- Deliver or oversee participant preparation, MDMA-assisted sessions, and integration sessions in accordance with the approved protocol.
- Work closely with Dr. Pamela Kryskow, Qi Integrated Health, the clinical research team, and collaborators from MAPS.
- Support the selection, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of study therapists.
- Facilitate clinical consultation, case review, and reflective practice within the therapeutic team.
- Help establish consistency and fidelity across therapeutic sessions and study sites.
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, study sponsor, medical and research teams, and site leadership.
- Identify and escalate participant safety concerns, protocol deviations, or clinical risks through the appropriate study processes.
- Support the development and implementation of therapist-related procedures, training materials, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical and research records.

- Participate in study meetings, training, quality-improvement activities, and regulatory or ethics reviews when required.
- Help foster a therapeutic environment grounded in safety, humility, collaboration, cultural awareness, and respect for participant autonomy.

Required Qualifications

- Registration and good standing as a regulated mental-health professional authorized to practise in British Columbia.
- Meaningful clinical experience in psychedelic-assisted therapy.
- Formal training in MDMA-assisted therapy.
- Previous clinical supervision, consultation, or team-leadership experience.
- Robust understanding of trauma-informed, participant-centred, and relational approaches to care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical and research team.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ethical practice, professional boundaries, informed consent, and participant safety.
- Ability and willingness to complete all study-required training, including Good Clinical Practice and protocol-specific training.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working within a clinical trial or regulated research environment.
- Familiarity with Health Canada requirements and ICH Good Clinical Practice.
- Experience supervising or supporting therapists delivering psychedelic-assisted therapy.
- Experience working with therapist self-experience, experiential training, or professional-development programs.
- Knowledge of adverse-event recognition, suicide-risk assessment, and clinical escalation procedures.
- Experience working across multiple study sites or with geographically distributed teams.

Contract Structure This is an independent-contractor position with a part-time, project-based commitment. The specific schedule, scope, contract duration, and compensation will be discussed with shortlisted candidates and will reflect the study timeline and the candidate’s experience.

Some work may be completed remotely; however, the role will require availability for in-person study activities in British Columbia, including work at Qi Integrated Health in Vancouver.

Appointment to the position will be subject to confirmation of professional credentials, required study training, and all applicable regulatory and ethics requirements.
