Leasing Specialist — York Developments

About the role

York Developments builds and operates new purpose-built rental communities in London, Ontario — including AQUI on KING, SOFIA, and PARK VU — with more coming. We're growing our leasing team and looking for a Leasing Specialist who wants to be part of a best-in-class group.

You'll be the first person a prospective resident meets. You'll show them the building, answer their questions with accuracy and warmth, and guide them from first inquiry to signed lease. In a market with plenty of supply, the difference is the person on the other end of the phone — that's you.

What you'll do

Lead every prospect from inquiry to lease

- Respond to inquiries by phone, email, text, and in person — promptly, every time
- Tour prospects through model suites and the presentation centre; tailor each tour to what they actually need (layout, budget, timing, neighbourhood)
- Manage the full leasing cycle: lead follow-up, applications, screening coordination
- Set and hit daily, weekly, and monthly leasing targets; track your pipeline in our leasing software

Know the asset

- Become the expert on your building — suites, finishes, amenities, rates, utilities, lease terms, construction timelines, and the surrounding neighbourhood
- Keep close, accurate communication with the Leasing Manager so nothing shared with a prospect is out of date
- Bring prospect and resident feedback back to management, and speak up when you see a way to make the process run better

Drive traffic

- Partner with our marketing team on campaigns, listings, and social content




- Build and run a monthly outreach plan, including off-site marketing to employers, relocation contacts, and the local market
- Help organize open houses and events
- Keep tabs on the competition and what's happening in the London rental market

Keep the standard high

- Conduct regular site walks so curb appeal, model suites, and the leasing office always reflect York's quality standards
- Support pre-leasing and lease-up setup for new buildings: model suites, marketing materials, leasing office

What success looks like in the first year

- Consistent weekly lease volume against building targets
- Strong appointment-to-lease and application-to-lease conversion
- Fast, thorough follow-up — no lead goes cold
- A prospect experience residents mention when they move in

What you bring

- 2+ years in sales or a customer-facing role with targets; leasing, hospitality, or real estate experience is a robust asset
- College diploma or university degree
- Organized and self-directed — you can run a busy pipeline without being chased
- Comfortable with CRM/leasing software and social platforms; quick to learn new tools
- Warm, clear communicator who can educate, reassure, and handle objections with confidence
- Available for some evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule
- Reliable transportation for travel between sites
