Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Real Estate Conveyancer to join our growing law firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing residential and commercial real estate transactions from opening through closing and post-closing, while working closely with lawyers, clients, lenders, realtors, and other law offices.

Payment The payment structure will be discussed at interview it can be either salary or per file bases pay.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage residential and commercial real estate files from opening to completion, including purchases, sales, refinances, transfers, and other real estate transactions.
- Open, organize, maintain, and close real estate files and ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Conduct and review title searches, writ searches, executions, and other required due diligence.
- Prepare and review closing documents, including Statements of Adjustments, Directions Regarding Funds, Declarations, Undertakings, and other transaction-specific documents.
- Prepare and register electronic documents through Teraview, including Transfers, Charges/Mortgages, Discharges, and other instruments.
- Review Agreements of Purchase and Sale, lender instructions, title documents, searches, and closing requirements.
- Receive, review, and comply with mortgage and lender instructions.
- Communicate with clients, lenders, mortgage brokers, realtors, opposing counsel, municipalities, and other parties involved in transactions.
- Coordinate closing funds, payouts, mortgage advances, deposits,



and other financial aspects of transactions.
- Prepare trust requisitions, trust ledgers, statements of account, and other accounting-related documentation.
- Manage closing deadlines and ensure all conditions and undertakings are satisfied.
- Complete post-closing matters, including reporting to clients and lenders, payment of outstanding accounts, discharge follow-ups, and file closing.
- Assist lawyers with more complex residential and commercial real estate matters as required.
- Maintain organized electronic files and accurate records in accordance with firm procedures and Law Society requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience working as a real estate conveyancer, law clerk, or legal assistant with hands-on responsibility for Ontario real estate transactions preferred.
- Robust knowledge of Ontario residential real estate conveyancing; experience with commercial real estate transactions is strongly preferred.
- Must be proficient and comfortable using:
- Teraview
- CosmoLex
- Closer
- Unity
- Familiarity with Ontario land registration procedures, title searches, writ searches, mortgage documentation, and electronic registration.




- Ability to independently manage a high volume of files and competing closing deadlines.
- Strong understanding of the real estate closing process from file opening through post-closing.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and courteous when communicating with clients, lenders, realtors, lawyers, and other parties.
- Ability to identify potential issues in a transaction and promptly bring them to the attention of the supervising lawyer.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PDF/document management software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced law firm environment.
- Law Clerk or Legal Assistant diploma/certificate is considered an asset.

The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is experienced, organized, dependable, and capable of taking ownership of real estate files with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of closing deadlines, communicates proactively, and is comfortable handling both routine residential transactions and more involved commercial real estate matters. Experience working within an Ontario real estate law practice and proficiency with Teraview, CosmoLex, Closer, and Unity are important requirements for this position
