About the Opportunity micro1 is partnering with a customer to develop advanced AI systems using real-world legal expertise. We are seeking experienced Lawyers to contribute legal analysis, document review, contract assessment, and legal reasoning that will help improve next-generation AI systems.
This role is ideal for legal professionals with experience in contract law, compliance, corporate transactions, commercial law, risk analysis, legal operations, or document-intensive legal practice. You'll apply your legal judgment to evaluate documents, identify risks, conduct legal research, and provide transparent explanations of legal concepts. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze contracts, agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
- Identify potentially risky, ambiguous, or problematic clauses and provide detailed legal analysis.
- Draft legal summaries, risk assessments, and recommendations based on document reviews.
- Conduct legal research using public sources and applicable legal frameworks.
- Evaluate legal reasoning, document accuracy, and compliance-related considerations.
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear, understandable language for non-legal audiences.
- Create realistic legal scenarios and reference materials for evaluation purposes.
- Review AI-generated outputs for legal accuracy, logical consistency, and risk awareness.
- Provide structured written feedback to improve legal reasoning and document quality.
- Adhere to confidentiality, ethics, and conflict-of-interest standards throughout project work.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD), LLB, LLM, or equivalent legal qualification.
- Active, inactive, or previously held bar membership in a recognized jurisdiction.
- Minimum 4 years of professional legal experience.
- Strong experience in contract drafting, contract review, legal analysis, or compliance-related work.
- Ability to identify legal risks, obligations, and enforceability concerns within legal documents.
- Experience conducting legal research and interpreting legal authorities.
- Excellent written communication and analytical reasoning skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial law, corporate law, compliance, transactions, regulatory affairs, employment law, privacy law, or related practice areas.
- Background in legal operations, contract lifecycle management, or legal technology.
- Experience reviewing large volumes of legal documents and providing risk-based recommendations.
- Familiarity with technology, AI, software, or emerging legal technologies.
- Experience creating legal guidance, training materials, or knowledge-management resources.
- Ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly to business stakeholders and non-lawyers.
- Interest in applying legal expertise to innovative technology projects.
Compensation
- $80–$180/hour
