Responsibilities

- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that foster cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Support children’s individual needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, ensuring all health and safety standards are met
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and team members to promote a collaborative approach to care and education
- Document children’s progress through detailed observations and written reports
- Assist in organizing classroom routines, including meal times, rest periods, and transitions
- Use computer skills to update records, prepare educational materials, and communicate with families




- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior staff or volunteers when appropriate

Requirements

- Valid Alberta Level 2 or Level 3 Early Childhood Educator certification.
- Current and Valid (not expired) Child Care First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Police Information Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search (not older than 6 months from the date of hire).
- Experience working with school-aged children in K-6 is preferred but not required.
- Robust communication, teamwork, and classroom-management skills.
- Commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive practice.
