Position Title: Logistics Coordinator

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Strategic Sourcing and Director of Operations

Nicholson has an immediate opening for a full-time Logistics Coordinator in our Sidney, BC manufacturing plant. Responsible for the execution, coordination, and continuous improvement of domestic and international logistics activities and operational oversight of distribution warehouses. Evaluates transportation modes and carriers based on service, cost, risk, and delivery requirements; coordinates freight forwarders and transportation providers; ensures accurate shipping and customs documentation; proactively manages shipment and customs exceptions; and supports achievement of On-Time Delivery (OTD), freight-cost, and trade-compliance objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Coordinate domestic and international shipments across courier, LTL, air, and ocean.
- Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to execute international shipments and resolve transportation or clearance issues.
- Ensure commercial invoices, COO, CUSMA, HS data, and other documentation are complete and accurate.
- Maintain working knowledge of: Incoterms, bills of lading,



contracts of carriage, carrier liability and freight terms.
- Review and approve freight costs by carrier, mode, lane, shipment type, and service level.
- Coordinate freight claims for loss, damage, shortage, and service failures.
- Oversight of distribution warehouses.
- Support continuous improvement through root-cause analysis of logistics failures, documentation errors, excessive freight costs, and recurring service issues.

Qualifications

- Diploma, certificate, and experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, international trade, or a related discipline (CCLP credential considered an asset).
- 3–5 years of progressively responsible logistics or transportation experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating domestic and international freight working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.
- Working knowledge of customs documentation, Incoterms, HS classification, COO requirements, preferential trade agreements, and international shipping processes.
- Working knowledge of freight rating, bills of lading, contracts of carriage, carrier liability, and freight-claims processes.
- Strong analytical capability with demonstrated ability to evaluate freight cost, service, delivery performance, and logistics exceptions.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and ability to manage multiple changing priorities.
