The Shelter Resource Worker reports directly to the Site Manager while delivering essential services to adults facing homelessness and health issues. This casual role requires flexibility with shifts throughout the week, offering an opportunity to make a real difference in clients' lives. Responsibilities include providing intake support, connecting guests with community resources, and maintaining safety and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide assistance and supervision for vulnerable adults • Accept referrals and liaise with external resources • Refer guests to community services and support • Maintain accurate records and statistical data • Adhere to health and safety protocols for shelter operation
Requirements: • Minimum Grade 12 education plus two years related experience • Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certification • Familiarity with addiction and mental health resources • Strong communication and organizational skills required • Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector mandatory
