Machine Operator – ISBM PET Moulding

We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator with Injection Stretch Blow Moulding (ISBM) experience to join a growing manufacturing operation in Vaughan, Ontario.

The successful candidate will operate, monitor, and assist with maintaining ISBM equipment used in the production of PET plastic bottles and containers. This position requires robust mechanical aptitude, attention to quality, and the ability to troubleshoot production issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule The facility operates multiple weekday and weekend shifts. The successful candidate will initially work day shifts during the training period and will then transition to an afternoon, night, or weekend shift based on production requirements.

Candidates must have flexibility to work different shifts.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor Injection Stretch Blow Moulding (ISBM) machines and auxiliary equipment
- Perform machine start-ups, shutdowns, mould changes, and approved process adjustments
- Monitor temperature, pressure, cycle time, injection, stretching, and blowing conditions
- Inspect finished PET bottles and containers for quality, dimensions, weight, appearance, and defects
- Identify issues including flash, haze, deformation, uneven wall thickness, contamination, black spots, and short shots
- Make approved adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency
- Perform routine machine checks and basic troubleshooting
- Monitor raw materials and ensure proper material handling and loading
- Maintain accurate production, downtime, scrap, quality, and material usage records
- Minimize machine downtime and material waste




- Assist Maintenance and Quality teams with equipment and production issues
- Support preventative maintenance and machine inspections as required
- Maintain a clean and safe production area
- Follow GMP, PPE, quality, and workplace safety requirements

Qualifications
- Previous ISBM machine operating experience strongly preferred
- Experience with PET manufacturing, blow moulding, injection moulding, or plastics manufacturing
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of plastic processing and moulding principles
- Ability to follow production specifications, SOPs, and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and product quality
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Basic computer and production-recording skills are an asset
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical & Work Requirements Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, perform repetitive production and inspection tasks, and safely lift or move materials within established workplace limits.

The position involves working around manufacturing equipment, noise, and heat while wearing required PPE.

Compensation

$30.00–$40.00 per hour, based on relevant experience and technical knowledge.
