Salary: $92,610 to $115,762 annually, commensurate with skills and experience.

Monday – Friday 8:30AM - 4:30PM - Highbury Facility

London Transit Commission (LTC) keeps the city of London moving, operating a unionized, multi-shift, multi-site transit system. We're hiring a Manager of Corporate Health & Safety to lead our health and safety program across all departments, with a particular focus on Fleet & Facilities and Operations.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you'll be LTC's primary internal expert on occupational health and safety, applying hands-on, practical experience across the organization's full range of operations to drive compliance and improve safety outcomes.

What You'll Do

- Lead LTC's corporate health and safety program, setting strategic direction, conducting gap analyses, and driving continuous improvement of policies and practices across all departments
- Act as the dedicated health and safety partner for Fleet & Facilities and Operations, and serve as LTC's primary liaison with the Ministry of Labour and other regulators
- Ensure Managers, Directors, and Joint Health & Safety Committee members stay current on legislative and policy requirements
- Lead the development of LTC's annual Health and Safety Work Plan in collaboration with the Joint Health and Safety Committee, setting priorities that reduce injury, improve health and safety outcomes, and ensure ongoing compliance
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and lead corrective action plans that address not just individual events but systemic and recurring risk trends across the organization




- Oversee health and safety compliance for on-site contractors, including LTC's Contractor Compliance program, ensuring third-party work meets regulatory and corporate safety standards
- Report on corporate safety performance to senior management, and maintain LTC's health and safety documentation and communications strategy
- Provide health and safety input to HR on WSIB claims, return to work, and accommodation planning as needed

What You Bring

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dedicated health and safety role.
- A recognized professional health and safety designation (e.g., Canadian Registered Safety Qualified [CRSP]) is preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations, with the ability to build and lead a health and safety program across multiple operational areas
- Experience in a fleet, garage, or heavy equipment maintenance environment is a strong asset, along with the credibility to influence safety behaviour with both trades and operations staff
- Experience in a unionized, multi-shift, multi-site environment, with strong incident investigation, root cause analysis, and project management skills
