We are seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join our team. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience operating friction cranes in a construction, marine, industrial, civil, or heavy equipment environment. The Crane Operator will be responsible for the safe and productive operation of cranes while adhering to all company policies, site procedures, and applicable safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate friction cranes safely and efficiently to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment.
· Conduct pre-operational inspections and complete required equipment documentation.
· Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical deficiencies.
· Interpret load charts and ensure lifts are completed within equipment limitations.
· Communicate effectively with riggers, signalpersons, supervisors, and other site personnel.
· Ensure all lifts are performed in accordance with site-specific lift plans and applicable regulations.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and company training programs.
· Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
· Valid Journeyperson certification for Mobile Crane Operator in the province of NL.
· Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience operating 82t to 140t conventional friction crane.
· Must have experience pile driving.
· Experience working on bridge construction would be as asset.
· Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
· High level of integrity and work ethic.
· Must have a valid class 3 driver's license and clean driver’s abstract.
· Must have valid Power Line hazards certificate.
· Other required safety training will be provided.
· Must demonstrate a willingness to learn a variety of job-related tasks.
