Responsible for utilizing equipment such as excavators, front-end loaders, track dozers, and specialized material processing equipment (screeners and material stacking conveyors), engaged in the screening, blending and production of bulk topsoil products as well as their loading and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with the dispatch/order desk to receive job orders.
- Organize and maintain an obstructive-free work area:
- Operate within the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Safely operate and maintain all machinery/equipment including during transportation, set-up, shut-down and tear-down of equipment operations.
- Perform pre-operational checks on all machinery and equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Fill out Daily Machine check list.
- Must be able to work within a 55 km radius from Bowes Road and travel to sites may be required on occasion.
Working Hours:
- Regular working hours: Sunday-Thursday 10:00 pm-8:00am (maybe starting earlier than or later as well as finishing earlier or later depending on customer/company requirements). This also includes working during the spring, summer, and fall seasons, working salt in the winter season, during snow events.
- Overtime required during peak periods and when workload is needed.
- Communicate efficiently and act in a qualified and courteous manner with all personnel and customers.
- Ability to read, write and have English comprehension.
- Able to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Cultivate and maintain an attitude focused on personally performing to contribute to the highest level of achievement in customer satisfaction via communication and work; products and services the company provides to its clients.
- Exercise regular visual concentration in the use of all equipment and tools, (especially conveyor belts and rollers), product production and job site work efficiency.
- Maintain continuous focused attention and mental alertness especially during moving and driving equipment on job sites as the sites are utilized by haulers and customers for both dropping off waste and for deliveries and pickups.
- Sustain working outdoors and exposure to extreme climate temperatures (hot, dry, windy, rainy, cold, wet) whether working on company sites or customer’s job sites.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
