THE ROLE The Nurses' Aide provides person-centered care that promotes the comfort, safety, dignity, independence, and wellbeing of Sisters and Residents through compassionate, relationship-based care.

This is a hands-on, front-line role for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships and making a positive difference in the daily lives of others. A typical week includes assisting with personal care, mobility, meals, and daily routines; reporting changes in condition; and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support Sister wellbeing.

You will report to the Manager, Nurses' Aides & IPAC and work closely with the interdisciplinary care team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Personal Care and Support: Provide compassionate assistance with personal care, mobility, nutrition, comfort, and daily living activities while promoting dignity and independence.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate observations and concerns promptly and work closely with the interdisciplinary team to support quality care.
- Sister Advocacy and Wellbeing: Promote a safe, inclusive,



and person-centered environment that respects individual needs and preferences.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care provided, observations, and changes in Sister condition.
- Relationship-Centered Care: Build respectful, trusting relationships with Sisters and Residents while supporting their comfort, choices, and quality of life.

WHAT YOU BRING

- Current PSW Certificate, completion of 2nd year nursing education, or equivalent healthcare training or experience
- Experience working in long-term care, retirement homes, or other healthcare or residential care settings
- Knowledge and understanding of the PSW role and responsibilities
- Ability to provide compassionate, respectful, and person-centered care
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Effective time management, attendance, and punctuality
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the fast-paced position
- Respect for the history, culture and Catholic heritage of the Sisters of St. Joseph, alongside an inclusive approach that welcomes differences in culture, background, ability and belief.

Considered strong assets:

- Experience or education in responsive expressions and dementia care
- Bilingualism (English/French)
- Class G driver's license
- Customer service experience
- Experience working with religious communities, faith-based organizations, or congregations
