Role Description Summary The Occupational Therapist delivers individualized direct and consultative services to a pediatric client base remotely across British Columbia. We work with many schools and communities across the province and are looking for someone to support our contracts virtually as well as within some in-person visits throughout the year, Our Occupational Therapists promote active participation in activities that help children and youth learn and develop life skills, be creative and express joy, and thrive through self-care skills and relationships with others. This role collaborates closely with families and our multidisciplinary team members to develop goals that enhance a child's engagement with their environment and the people around them.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and diagnose areas of need related to fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation, feeding, activities of daily living, and executive functioning
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings and family goals
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to create supportive and effective environments for the child




- Provide training and support to families and caregivers to help them implement strategies at home and in the community
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of intervention plans, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, intervention plans, and progress notes
- Participate in team meetings, clinical meetings, and community meetings as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization
- Contribute to program development and clinical quality initiatives for the organization

Qualifications & Skills

What You’ll Bring:

- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Current registration with CHCPBC
- At least 2 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy is preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply!
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and neurodivergent children
- Strong understanding of fine and gross motor development, sensory processing, and emotional regulation
- Proficiency with Google Suites and MS Office 365 Suite
- Experience with virtual meetings and conferences with Google Meet and Zoom
- Demonstrated business writing skills, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting

- You take initiative in seeking out new strategies and resources to support clients, demonstrating a proactive and resourceful attitude in all aspects of your work.
- You stay updated on best practices in pediatric occupational therapy, applying this knowledge to improve outcomes for clients.
- You are detail-oriented and highly organized, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely management of information.
- You are able to manage your time effectively to work independently while also enjoying team member collaboration.

Working Conditions Our Occupational Therapist will work out of their home base and service clients and contracts virtually across the province. Working hours are dictated by the caseload and hours available by the applicant.

This position may require evening work depending on client needs. It involves both home-based and community-based sessions with pediatric clients.

Physical Requirements

This role may involve physically demanding tasks such as prolonged standing or lifting heavy objects as part of therapy sessions.

Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
