Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Production Supervisor for the Morning Shift, where you'll lead and motivate a dedicated team to achieve operational excellence. In this role, you'll oversee daily production activities, ensure quality standards are met, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your mechanical knowledge and expertise with manufacturing systems will be vital in maintaining efficient processes and fostering a safe, productive work environment.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support production team members to ensure protected, efficient, and consistent operations.
- Ensure production activities meet established performance goals, quality standards, production targets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Enforce compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety policies, work instructions, and company guidelines.
- Coordinate staffing, task assignments, break coverage, and workflow adjustments to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Monitor production processes and equipment performance, identify issues, and lead corrective actions to address delays, quality concerns, equipment problems, or other operational challenges.
- Utilize HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems and other production technology to monitor equipment status, review alarms, identify issues, and support effective production operations.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting of production equipment and systems, escalating mechanical or technical issues to Maintenance when required.
- Work closely with Maintenance to communicate equipment faults, alarms, error messages, and troubleshooting steps taken to help minimize production downtime.
- Conduct routine quality checks and ensure materials, processes, and finished products meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor production data and equipment information to identify trends, production concerns, and opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through effective housekeeping and workplace organization practices.
- Complete required production documentation and ensure accurate and timely reporting of production, downtime, quality, and operational data.
- Support the training, coaching, development, and onboarding of new and existing team members.
- Provide ongoing feedback to employees regarding performance, productivity, safety, quality, attendance, and workplace expectations.
- Escalate significant production, staffing, quality, safety, or equipment concerns to management as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring all employees follow health and safety regulations, company policies, SOPs, and safe work practices.
- Verify the proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) and address non-compliance promptly.
- Identify workplace hazards, participate in workplace inspections, and ensure safety concerns are addressed or escalated appropriately.
- Ensure employees understand and follow safe operating procedures for production equipment and machinery.
- Respond appropriately to safety incidents, equipment concerns, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Support safety training, hazard communication, incident prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reinforce employee accountability for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workplace.
- Work collaboratively with Management, Maintenance, and Health & Safety representatives to address operational and workplace hazards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a production, manufacturing, recycling,
or industrial environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, coach, and provide clear direction to production employees.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, Maintenance, and other departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, make timely decisions, and resolve production and employee-related issues effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to respond quickly to equipment faults, production interruptions, and operational issues.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn, understand, and operate production equipment, systems, and technology.
- Experience with or the ability to effectively use HMI systems to monitor equipment performance, review alarms, identify equipment or process issues, and support troubleshooting.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable working with computerized production systems, equipment controls, digital interfaces, and production technology.
- Ability to interpret equipment displays, system information, alarms, and production data to support operational decisions.
- Ability to perform first-level equipment troubleshooting and determine when an issue should be escalated to Maintenance or other technical personnel.
- Comfortable learning new machinery, software, automated equipment, and technology as operational requirements evolve.
- Working knowledge of production, quality, health and safety, and operational best practices.
- Comfortable using computer systems and programs for documentation, reporting, email, production tracking, and data entry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment and adapt to changing operational priorities.
- Ability to work assigned shifts and provide flexibility based on production and business requirements.
