Why this role matters

Customer orders, purchase orders, work orders, inspections, invoices, and the ERP are how work actually moves through this shop. If those stall, parts don’t ship. This role keeps the floor and the office aligned so mission-critical work gets out the door on time.

This is not a job where you are parked in the office at a computer. You will spend your first week on the shop floor learning how jobs actually run — machines, materials, inspections, bottlenecks — before you own the system. After that you still will not live in a chair. You will be on the floor, chasing information, closing loops, and making sure nothing stalls.

What you’ll own

- Dispatch and track customer orders from intake through delivery
- Run the ERP day-to-day: enter, update, and close jobs accurately
- Orchestrate purchase orders and work orders so material, machines, and people line up
- Assist with production scheduling and flag conflicts early
- Manage inspection checklists and keep QC paperwork current and traceable
- Maintain safety documentation and help keep the shop audit-ready
- Support invoicing and close the loop between shipped work and billing
- Support QC on the floor — travelers, checklists, and quality packages
- Record meeting minutes and chase action items so decisions don’t evaporate
- Spot problems early — a late PO, an incomplete traveler, a job about to miss a date — and do something about it

What this job actually looks like You will move between the office and the shop. You will talk to operators, QC, purchasing, and customers. You will notice when a PO is late, a traveler is incomplete, or a job is about to miss a date — and you will act. Common sense is not a slogan here. If you wait to be told every next step, this is the wrong seat.

This environment is high-challenge and high-accountability. You need to be comfortable with pressure, own your mistakes, and not be afraid to hold others accountable when a job, a PO, a checklist, or a date is slipping — including people more senior than you. If you avoid hard conversations, this is the wrong seat. If you are a quick learner who likes owning the flow of work, there is a real path to grow in operations, quality, scheduling, or production control as we scale.

What you must bring

- Quick learner. You pick up an ERP, shop workflow, and quality paperwork without being walked through it twice.
- Reliable. You show up, follow through, and close loops. Loose ends are not someone else’s problem.
- Forward-thinking. You see the next problem before it hits the schedule and you move on it.
- Accountable. You are comfortable with challenge and pressure. You own your work, and you are not afraid to hold others accountable when a PO, traveler, inspection, or deadline is slipping.
- Shop-floor first. First week on the floor is mandatory onboarding. You keep working between office and shop after that.
- Driver and vehicle. Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a reliable personal vehicle.
- Record check. Employment is conditional upon obtaining and maintaining a criminal record check, given the regulated nature of our work.
- Schedule flexibility. Available for evenings, weekends,

and extended hours when production or customer deadlines require it.
- Floor-ready. Comfortable on a manufacturing floor — PPE, noise, moving equipment.
- Transparent writing. Minutes, checklists, and ERP entries must be accurate. Vague notes create expensive mistakes.
- References. Must provide professional references.

Assets — not required, but they help

- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 requirements
- Manufacturing or metals background (machining, fabrication, additive, or similar)
- Prior ERP, dispatch, purchasing, production-control, invoicing, or QC-documentation experience

What we offer

- A genuine opportunity to grow with the company — operations, quality, scheduling, and production control all sit next to this seat
- Work that matters: aerospace, defence, energy, and space
- A small, fast team where you will see the full process, not one slice of it
- Real responsibility early, if you prove you can keep operations tight as we scale

Optional but useful

- Who are you, and what makes you tick?
- A time you walked into a messy process and tightened it up
