Meta Steel Buildings Inc. is looking for a reliable and experienced Part-Time Driver to transport materials, tools, and equipment to our job sites.
This position is ideal for someone with experience driving a Ford F-350 dually or similar heavy-duty pickup with a gooseneck trailer who is looking for approximately 2–3 days of work per week.
Most deliveries are within Ontario, although occasional out-of-province travel and overnight trips may be required.
Responsibilities
- Drive an F-350 dually pickup truck with a gooseneck trailer
- Transport building materials, tools, equipment, and other job-site loads
- Pick up and deliver loads to construction sites and suppliers
- Safely secure loads before transportation
- Perform basic pre-trip inspections of the truck and trailer
- Ensure loads, equipment, and materials arrive safely and on schedule
- Assist with loading and unloading when required
- Maintain communication with the office regarding pickups, deliveries, and schedules
- Complete occasional longer-distance and out-of-province trips
- Follow all applicable transportation and road-safety requirements
Requirements
- Previous experience driving a heavy-duty pickup truck with a gooseneck or similar large trailer
- Valid driver's licence appropriate for the truck/trailer combination
- Clean or satisfactory driver's abstract
- Strong knowledge of trailer handling, backing, parking, and maneuvering
- Experience with load securement
- Comfortable driving longer distances
- Able to work independently and responsibly
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable with a schedule that may vary depending on deliveries and job-site requirements
- Able to travel outside Ontario when required
Construction, steel-building, equipment-hauling, or similar transportation experience is considered an asset.
Schedule
- Part time
- Approximately 2–3 days per week
- Days and hours will vary depending on scheduled loads
- Some early mornings, longer days, and occasional overnight/out-of-province trips may be required
