Sprout & Shine Academy is hiring a reliable and caring Part time Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to support our afternoon classroom operations.

We are a purpose-built, Montessori-inspired childcare centre committed to providing high-quality care in a warm, nurturing, and engaging workplace.

This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys working collaboratively with classroom staff and helping ensure children are well supported while the classroom remains clean, organized, and ready for the next day.

Position

- Part-Time
- Must be available Monday to Friday between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM
- Additional hours may be available based on program and staffing needs
- Opportunity to transition into a full-time position based on performance, availability, and centre needs

Duties & Responsibilities
- Support classroom educators with afternoon routines, transitions, and supervision.
- Assist with children’s care needs and maintain a secure, nurturing, and positive environment.
- Provide additional classroom support during pick-up and end-of-day periods.
- Help supervise children while maintaining required staff-to-child ratios.
- Assist with tidying and resetting classroom learning areas throughout the afternoon.
- Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, toys, learning materials, and frequently used classroom surfaces.
- Help ensure classrooms, activity areas, and shared spaces are organized, clean, and ready for the next day.
- Assist with end-of-day classroom closing routines.




- Restock classroom supplies and materials as needed.
- Support educators with basic classroom documentation and daily routines when required.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, and colleagues.
- Follow all health, safety, supervision, cleanliness, and licensing requirements.
- Uphold professionalism and represent Sprout & Shine Academy with warmth, care, and positivity.

Qualifications & Skills
- Valid BC ECE License to Practice
- Current Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR Certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Experience in licensed childcare or early childhood settings preferred
- Experience working with infants and toddlers is an asset
- Strong communication skills in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is a strong asset
- Reliable, punctual, caring, and team-oriented
- Willingness to assist with classroom cleaning, organization, and end-of-day routines
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy childcare environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow classroom routines and direction
