Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Parts Department Manager to lead our parts operations with energy and precision. In this role, you will oversee the entire parts department, along with the shop and yard infrastructure, ensuring efficient inventory management, procurement, and customer service. Your leadership will drive sourcing strategies, streamline supply chain processes, and foster a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional service.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong background in dealership operations, mechanical knowledge, and supply chain management to optimize parts availability and operational excellence.

Duties

- Lead and manage all aspects of the parts department, including inventory control, procurement, warehouse, shipping and receiving, shop and yard inventory, customer interactions
- Develop sourcing strategies to ensure the best quality parts at competitive prices through negotiation and supplier relationship management
- Oversee data entry accuracy for inventory systems and purchase orders to maintain precise stock levels
- Coordinate with manufacturing or repair teams to forecast demand planning needs and ensure timely parts availability
- Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to track inventory movement and maintenance schedules
- Implement supply chain best practices to optimize sourcing, reduce costs, and improve delivery times
- Supervise staff performance, provide training on mechanical knowledge, forklift operation, and customer service standards
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to warehouse operations such as forklift handling and HVAC systems




- Manage procurement activities for E/I components or specialized equipment as needed for facility maintenance

Skills

- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive or machinery parts sales and service processes
- Excellent data entry skills combined with proficiency in ERP systems, CMMS, and demand planning tools
- Strong negotiation abilities for sourcing parts at favorable terms while maintaining quality standards
- Outstanding customer service skills to build lasting relationships with clients and internal teams
- Deep mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes or HVAC systems to assist with technical inquiries
- Experience in supply chain management, procurement strategies, and sourcing techniques
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and familiarity with safety protocols for warehouse environments
- Knowledge of inventory management software and demand forecasting tools to optimize stock levels
