Thornlea Pharmacy is a community pharmacy in the same building as the Thornlea Medical Centre, so we work closely with the doctors there and we see the same patients regularly.
We are looking for a pharmacist. The role can be Pharmacy Manager (Designated Manager) or Staff Pharmacist, whichever suits you. Tell us which one you are applying for.
The work
- Dispensing and checking prescriptions, and counselling patients.
- MedsChecks, immunizations and minor ailment assessments.
- Blister packs for our compliance patients.
- Refill authorizations and follow-up with the doctors in the clinic.
- Narcotic counts and controlled drug records on your shifts.
If you take the manager role, you also
- Act as Designated Manager with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, so compliance, records and inspections are yours.
- Run the schedule and the team.
- Order and manage inventory through McKesson.
- Own the narcotic reconciliation.
What you need
- Part A licence, in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
- Current injection certification.
- For the manager role, eligibility as Designated Manager and a couple of years of community pharmacy experience.
- For the staff role, new graduates are welcome.
- We use Fillware. If you have not used it before, you will pick it up quickly.
Languages English, Hindi and Gujarati are the most helpful with our patients, so having one of those is a plus. It is not a requirement and anyone is welcome to apply.
