About Us
Heal Space is a multidisciplinary sports medicine clinic in Toronto offering healthcare and wellness services alongside strength and conditioning. Our mission is to help people move better, feel better, and perform at their highest level.
We are a team. Chiropractors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, massage therapists, sports medicine physicians, and strength coaches work side by side here, sharing cases and building treatment plans together. Our newly expanded facility includes a full training space with squat racks, turf, dumbbells, and kettlebells, so clients progress seamlessly from rehabilitation into performance training without leaving the building.
The Role
We are seeking a registered physiotherapist to join us as an independant contractor. This is a role for someone who wants to be part of something being built, not just rent a treatment room.
You will see a diverse caseload: athletes returning from injury, active adults, general population clients rebuilding capacity, and postoperative and persistent pain clients. Our model combines hands on manual therapy with progressive active rehabilitation, and our practitioners make full use of the gym floor.
Experienced clinicians and newer graduates are both welcome. If you are early in your career, you will not be left to figure it out alone. Mentorship and case support are built into how we work.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and build individualized treatment plans
- Deliver manual therapy alongside progressive active rehabilitation
- Program and coach rehab using our full training facility
- Move clients from rehabilitation into performance training with our coaching team
- Collaborate with chiropractors, osteopaths, massage therapists, physicians, and coaches on shared cases
- Maintain accurate records and communicate clearly with referring providers
- Participate in team case reviews, internal education, workshops, and clinic events
Required
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Qualified liability insurance and current CPR/AED certification
- Strong foundation in orthopaedic and sports assessment, manual therapy, and exercise prescription
- Confidence coaching foundational patterns: squats, hinges and deadlifts, pushes, pulls, lunges and single leg work, kettlebell swings, and core stability
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred
- Postgraduate manual therapy training (Orthopaedic Division, CAMPT stream, or equivalent)
- Pelvic health training. We are actively growing this service and there is real opportunity here
- Acupuncture or dry needling, FRC, Sport Physiotherapy Canada, or concussion management certification
- Experience with athletes, active adults, or return to sport progressions
- Experience in an interdisciplinary setting
What We Are Looking For Someone who works well within a team, shares cases, asks questions, and takes feedback as easily as they give it. Someone who wants to learn with us through case discussion and monthly workshops, and who is ready to grow their skill set, their caseload, and our services alongside us. Strong clinical reasoning, genuine care for patients, reliability, and a passion for bridging rehabilitation, fitness, and performance.
