The Picker Swamper is expected to execute & contribute to safe and productive rigging, loading, and transportation of heavy equipment. They also should aim to support picker operators and field crews by maintaining high safety standards, strong teamwork, and readiness for physically demanding tasks in challenging environments.
Responsibilities：
1.Assist Picker Operator:
- Help with rigging, loading, securing, and unloading materials and equipment.
- Provide hand signals or radio communications during lifting operations.
- Spotting and ground guidance for the operator when maneuvering the picker.
2.Rigging & Lifting Support:
- Properly attach slings, chains, spreader bars, or rigging gear to loads.
- Follow correct lifting and rigging procedures according to safety standards.
- Inspect rigging gear for wear or damage before each use.
3.Load Securing & Transportation Prep:
- Secure loads using binders, straps, and chains.
- Assist in tarping and preparing loads for safe highway or lease road transport.
- Help plan and organize the layout of loads for balance and safety.
4.On-site Labour Support:
- General labor tasks such as clearing debris, setting up equipment, or assisting with material movement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate basic hand or power tools when required.
- Towing of support equipment and performing Hot Shots will be required periodically.
5.Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all company and client safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks.
- Wear and maintain proper PPE at all times.
Relevant Requirements：
- Grade 12 education or above.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- Motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to effectively convey directions, guidance and information. Willingness to take instructions.
- Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada.
- A commitment to safety practices within the workplace.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $24.00-$32.00 per hour
