Title: Product Engineer

Time: Full-Time (US Time Zones)

Location: Remote (US or Canada)

Compensation: $140,000 - $190,000 USD + Equity The Company

Our client builds contemporary software for county assessors and local government offices to manage property data, records, and public requests with confidence. Their platform helps county offices handle high volumes of inquiries, maintain consistent responses, and gain clear visibility into workload and turnaround times without adding complexity or disrupting how teams already work.

Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Product Engineer with 3 to 8 years of experience to join a fast-moving GovTech startup modernizing local government software. You will own product outcomes end-to-end, from talking directly with customers to shipping AI-powered features, in a high-autonomy environment where you set your own pace and drive work forward without waiting for direction.

Key Responsibilities

- Own entire customer deliverables end-to-end by scoping, building, and iterating on product features with minimal oversight
- Talk directly with government customers to understand their needs and translate insights into product solutions

- Ship full-stack features across frontend, backend, and AI-powered tooling
- Travel to customer sites to iterate quickly and ensure product-market fit
- Operate like a forward-deployed engineer, jumping into new environments and figuring things out independently

Qualifications

- 3 to 8 years of full-stack engineering experience with a product-building mindset
- Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs
- Significant experience working at smaller, fast-growing startups
- Demonstrated experience shipping product features end-to-end, owning discovery through launch, and iterating based on user feedback
- Proven comfort working directly with customers and translating insights into product features
- High drive, initiative, and ability to thrive without structured onboarding or detailed specs
- Strong, concise, and articulate communication skills in ambiguous environments
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
- Must be based in the US or Canada and eligible to work without visa sponsorship (US Citizen or Green Card holders)
