Tocha is looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Production Associate to join our food production team. You'll help turn our Vancouver based small-batch spiced sauces — OG, Verde, and Yuzu — into finished, labelled bottles ready to ship, while upholding the unique tastes and food safety standards our customers count on.

About the Role

As a Production Associate, you will be a core support for every stage of the production process: preparing and operating equipment, cooking and filling sauce batches, labelling and packaging finished bottles, and maintaining a clean, compliant production kitchen. This is a physical, fast-paced role suited to someone who takes pride in consistency, cleanliness, and precision.

Key Responsibilities

- Work in both office and production kitchen facilities, transiting between the two when necessary.
- Prepare, cook, and fill raw batches of Tocha's three sauce flavours (OG, Verde, Yuzu), following standardized recipes and batch timing under the production supervisors in long shifts.
- Operate and maintain filling, capping, and labelling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Label and pack finished bottles accurately into boxes or pallets, meeting delivery targets.
- Maintain compliance with Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations for food handling, sanitation, and traceability.
- Perform routine sanitation of equipment, workstations, and production areas according to established cleaning schedules.
- Accurately complete production logs, batch records, and lot-coding documentation to support full product traceability.
- Inspect raw materials, packaging, and finished goods for quality and safety issues, and report any deviations immediately.
- Safely handle ingredients, chemicals, and cleaning agents in accordance with workplace safety guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the operations team to meet daily and weekly production schedules.

What You Bring

- Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, kitchen,



or a similar hands-on environment (preferred, not required).
- Understanding of or willingness to be trained in CFIA food safety regulations and adhere to GMP practices.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistent, high-quality work.
- Ability to stand, lift (up to 25 kg), and perform repetitive manual tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced food production environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain one after employment.
- Useable private vehicle and valid BC driver’s license.

Hours & Pay

- Wage: $43,680 per year
- Full-time salaried. 40 hours weekly, 4 days per week.
- Because we take pride in our long cooking process, Tocha uses an averaging agreement to calculate overtime. Instead of overtime being calculated on any single long shift, hours are averaged over a weekly period, and overtime pay applies only to hours that exceed the averaged threshold for that period.
- This means a longer shift (such as a 12-hour Verde batch day) may be balanced by shorter days elsewhere in the averaging period, rather than automatically triggering daily overtime.
- Overtime hours that exceed the averaging threshold are paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate, in accordance with Manitoba employment standards.
