Hutch & Hall is looking for an exceptional, highly organized person to join our small design and construction team in Muskoka.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves beautiful homes, interesting projects, solving problems and making things happen.

We're an interior design and construction company working on custom homes, renovations and furnishing projects throughout Muskoka and beyond. Our work takes us from the earliest stages of a project—design, budgeting and permitting—through construction, interiors, furnishings and the final details that make a home feel complete.

We're looking for someone who can become an important part of that process.

- The Opportunity

This isn't a traditional administrative assistant position. We're looking for someone who gets satisfaction from taking ownership, creating order, figuring things out and keeping projects moving. You'll work directly with the owners and have visibility into virtually every part of the business. One day you might be coordinating pricing for a new build; another you might be sourcing furniture for a client, tracking project expenses, communicating with a supplier, organizing an upcoming installation or making sure an order gets to site when it's needed.

There is lots of variety, lots to learn, and real opportunity to make the role your own.

As we find the right person and learn their strengths, we'd like the position to grow with them.

- What You'll Help Us With

A large part of the role is being the person who knows where things stand. You'll help coordinate active design and construction projects; maintain project trackers, budgets and schedules; organize quotes, invoices and expenses; communicate with trades,



suppliers and clients; place and track orders; follow up on outstanding items; and make sure important details don't fall through the cracks.

You'll also have opportunities to assist with the more creative side of our work—researching furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware and materials; finding alternatives when something isn't available; setting up trade accounts; preparing product information; and helping pull together selections for projects.

You don't need to be an interior designer to do this job well. Organization, initiative and judgment are more important to us than a design degree.

If you happen to have experience with interior design, construction, AutoCAD, SketchUp or technical drawings, we'd love to hear about it. Those skills could significantly expand both the role and compensation.

- You Might Be the Right Person If...

You're the person who naturally makes the spreadsheet, remembers the deadline, follows up when someone hasn't responded and notices when something doesn't quite add up. You're comfortable saying, “I'll take care of that.” And then you actually do.

You enjoy having several things on the go, but you're good at creating systems so they don't feel chaotic.

You're confident with numbers and technology, comfortable learning new software and not intimidated by invoices, budgets, drawings or construction terminology.

You communicate well and are comfortable dealing directly with clients, trades, suppliers and other professionals.

Experience in project coordination, construction, architecture, design, office/studio management,



bookkeeping, purchasing, real estate, property management or another detail-oriented environment could all translate very well to this role.

You'll work directly with the people making the decisions, see projects evolve from an idea into a finished home, and have the opportunity to influence how we organize and run the business.

We're also open to shaping the position around the right person's strengths. If you're exceptional at project coordination, we can lean into that. If you also have a strong design eye, we'd love to use it. If you have CAD or technical drawing experience, there is an opportunity to take on considerably more design and drawing work.

We care more about finding the right person than finding someone with a particular résumé.

The position will start at approximately 20–30 hours per week, with flexibility and the potential to grow.

Some in-person work in Muskoka is important because our projects, samples and materials are here, but there is flexibility for independent work as well.

Compensation: $30–$45+ per hour, depending on experience and capabilities. Higher compensation is available for candidates who bring advanced technical skills such as CAD/construction drawings or can take on a broader level of project responsibility.
