Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Coordinator and Junior engineer’s primary function is to support the programs team in the definition of tasks, detailed design, implementation of the quality assurance and delivery coordination tasks, coordination of resources, scheduling, and progress tracking as essential parts of this role. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Project coordination
- Provide support in creating, monitoring, and verifying purchase orders for materials and labour sub-contracts
- Review, schedule and provide work orders to the production coordinator
- Helping to create and track internal work orders, this includes daily checking in with fabrication staff to compare planned progress to actual progress.
- Help prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules and reports
- Supervise, monitor, and inspect installations
- Collect completed work orders and check fabrication employee hours match with work orders
- Ensure all employee timesheets are accounted for each week
Communication

Candidates applying for this position will possess the following experience:
- Knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication equipment and processes
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and documentation
- Relevant project work experience is an asset

Work Environment
- The project coordinator will spend equal amounts of time in the welding and fabrication shop, and in the office.
- Project and technical staff may be required to work on sites around the Ottawa area, or may be in the remote sites for periods up to 28 consecutive days. These sites could be international, on offshore platforms or other remote sites from time-to-time.
- Management will provide as much notice as possible for these trips and every effort will be made to reduce the impact on employees schedules in such cases.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
