We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance skilled to maintain and strengthen our AS9100-certified quality management system in a precision machine shop environment. This role is critical to ensuring our parts meet aerospace and customer specifications while keeping our facility audit-ready year-round.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, update, and enforce the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS), including procedures, work instructions, and controlled documentation
- Plan and conduct internal audits per the internal audit schedule; track findings through corrective and preventive action (CAPA) to closure
- Support external/registrar audits and customer audits, including preparation, hosting, and follow-up
- Manage nonconforming material, root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, fishbone), and corrective action reports
- Maintain calibration program for gauges and measuring equipment
- Own and update the risk register, management review inputs, and internal metrics/KPIs tied to the QMS
- Train and support production staff on quality procedures and AS9100 requirements
- Ensure traceability, document control,
and record retention meet AS9100 and customer/contractual requirements
- Support supplier quality activities, including supplier audits and evaluations, as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of quality experience in a machine shop, aerospace, or precision manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of AS9100 (Rev D) requirements and experience supporting or leading internal audits
- Strong understanding of GD&T; and ability to read blueprints/engineering drawings
- Familiarity with root cause/corrective action methodologies (8D, 5-Why)
- Internal auditor certification (AS9100) preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP/QMS software experience a plus
Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
