About Us
McCarthy Fowler Professional Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented receptionist to join our growing Hagersville office. The successful candidate will primarily support wills and estates matters, while also assisting with a variety of solicitor-side files including real estate and corporate/commercial matters.
This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys hands-on experience, client interaction, and working across multiple areas of law in a community-focused practice.

As the first point of contact for our clients, visitors, and team members, you will play an important role in delivering exceptional service with professionalism and efficiency while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of our office. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently as well as with a team.
We’re looking for someone who is professional, personable, flexible, proactive, and detail-oriented, and who relishes new challenges, organizational innovation, and the level of excellence we’re known for.
What you will do:
- Operate a multi-line phone system, handling and directing incoming calls professionally.
- Welcome and log visitors while providing a warm and qualified experience.
- Manage meeting room bookings, schedules, setups, and last-minute requests.
- Ensure meeting rooms and reception areas remain organized, clean, and ready for use.
- Order and maintain office supplies.
- Set up standard audio-visual equipment and provide meeting support as required.
- Follow office security, confidentiality, and reception protocols.
- Assist with opening and closing the reception area.
- Provide backup support to the Client Centre Services team when required.
- Liaise with vendors and contractors regarding office repairs, maintenance, and facility-related projects.
- Assist the Practice Manager with planning and executing internal and external events.
- Support the onboarding and offboarding process for firm members.
- Provide early morning absence notifications when assigned to the opening shift.
- Perform various administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
- Overtime may occasionally be required for special events.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity and willingness to learn new applications and systems.
- CPR and First Aid certification is an asset.
Requirements:
- 3 years of reception or administrative experience in a law firm or corporate environment is an asset.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and take initiative.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to maintain a professional and diplomatic demeanor at all times.
