Job summary: We are seeking a Recreation Assistant who will be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of recreation programs designed to meet the interests and the physical, cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual and cultural needs of each resident in accordance with the comprehensive assessment as outlined in the Recreation Assistant .

Qualifications:

- Grade 12 education
- Education and/or experience in Recreation an asset
- Ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with all levels of employees, residents, families, and vendors
- Excellent problem solving/analysis/judgment skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Resourceful, dependable, and accountable
- Class 4 license an asset

Job Expectations:

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents and their families, other staff, supervisors, and the public




- Builds and maintains cooperative working relationships
- Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing / pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity and bending.

Non-physical Demands:

Wage Range: $20.4811 (after probation, $20.8080) as per collective agreement

Shifts: Days/Evening/ Weekends shifts - 18 hrs / wk.

Job Type: Full time
