Location: Northwestern Ontario

About the Role: Join a high-volume regional trauma and emergency centre that sees roughly 106,000 visits a year and serves a catchment of over 250,000 people across Northwestern Ontario. This rapid-paced department demands rapid triage, complex resuscitation, and immediate clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

- Triage and rapidly assess patients using the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS)

- Manage complex resuscitations and stabilize critically ill and injured patients

- Administer IV therapy, medications, and emergency interventions

- Perform ECG/arrhythmia recognition and monitor cardiac status

- Collaborate with emergency physicians, trauma teams, and interprofessional staff

- Provide patient and family education during critical moments and ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and in good standing

- Nursing diploma or degree from an approved program

- Current BLS/BCLS certification

- Recent Emergency Department or comparable acute-care nursing experience

- Experience with IV therapy, venipuncture, ECG/arrhythmia recognition, and emergency interventions

- Strong assessment, prioritization, communication,



and clinical decision-making skills in high-acuity settings

Preferred Qualifications:

- ACLS certification

- CTAS experience/training

- Trauma/resuscitation experience and TNCC certification

- PALS/ENPC certifications for pediatric emergency care

Work Conditions: Thrive in a high-intensity trauma and resuscitation setting with rapid patient turnover and high-acuity surges. Shifts span 24/7 coverage (days, nights, weekends, and holidays) within a large interprofessional emergency team.
