Build Something You're Proud Of
Ackard Contractors is looking for experienced Residential Carpenters and Framers to join our growing team.
Whether you're a registered Apprentice Carpenter, a Journeyman Carpenter, or an experienced residential framer who has built your skills on the job, we're interested in talking to you.
What matters most to us is that you have hands-on residential construction experience, including wood framing, take pride in the quality of your work, and want to be part of an award-winning team that does exceptional custom home renovations throughout the Edmonton area.
This isn't a repetitive production-building role. Our projects are varied, our renovations can be complex, and you'll have the opportunity to work across different stages of residential construction.
Depending on your experience and skill level, you'll work alongside our Site Supervisors, Lead Hands, other Carpenters and apprentices and our trade partners on projects that may include:
- Residential structural framing of floors, walls, ceilings and roofs
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and building plans
- Measuring, cutting and assembling wood framing and engineered products such as LVLs, trusses and joists
- Demolition and preparation for renovation construction
- Installing windows, doors, stairs, hardware and other structural components
- Concrete work, including building forms, mixing and pouring
- Setting up and working from ladders and scaffolding
- Working alongside sub-trades to keep projects moving smoothly
- Maintaining a clean, organized and safe jobsite
- Completing daily hazard assessments and participating in weekly toolbox meetings
- Maintaining tools and equipment in valuable working order
- Recording daily work and project updates using Buildertrend
- Following Ackard's safety procedures, building codes and regulations
What You Bring
We’re open to different levels of carpentry experience, but residential framing experience is important for this position. Ideally, you are passionate about your work, eager to contribute to a team, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
- Experience with wood-frame residential construction and framing of floors, walls and roofs
- Comfortable working at heights on tasks like roofing and exterior finishes
- Valid Fall Arrest and First Aid certifications
- Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, saws and framing equipment
- Strong safety mindset with an eye for spotting hazards and taking steps to prevent incidents
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record
- Equipped with your own set of tools and ready to work
- Professional, personable, and confident in client-facing situations
- Strong communication skills and comfortable using construction software
- Ability to deliver high-quality work within project timelines
- Motivated, reliable, and committed to supporting your team’s success
What We Offer
We believe great people deserve great support. Here's what you can expect when you work with us:
- Be part of an award-winning residential renovation company with over 40 years of success and a strong track record of continued growth.
- Competitive compensation that reflects your skills and experience.
- Comprehensive health and dental benefits through Sun Life.

Working Conditions
This position involves hands-on work in both interior and exterior residential construction environments. Team members must be comfortable working in variable conditions and adapting to the physical demands of a dynamic job site.
