A 41 year old female friend is looking for a roommate and companion. Either a single woman or a couple who bring heart, positive outlook, character, and fun to the table. We can’t teach those skills but can teach the skills necessary to assist. She is outgoing, love community events, loves dinner parties, entertaining and open to trying new things. She is a wheelchair user, but self-transfers, so no back work.

She can self direct her care and is kind and patient. Lovely housing is included with a private suite. This is a wonderful opportunity as it is flexible, with appropriate compensation, depending on responsibilities. We are willing to work with the right people to make it a win for everyone.

Shift hours:

- Working hours between 5pm and 9am from Monday to Friday and 24 hours every other weekend
- Respite will be offered (to be decided)

Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- A desire to provide person-centered support
- Personal care: bathing, and administrating medication when required
- Meals: nutritious meal planning and meal preparation, grocery shopping as needed
- Housekeeping: general house keeping and maintaining an organized home
- Teamwork and leadership: effective communication with other support staff, family, and agency supervisors
- Administration:



maintain appropriate written records like communication sheets, medical records, expense records
- Willingness to be responsible for individual in the event that a family member or support worker is not available

Requirements:

- Class 5 driving license required
- First Aid Certificate required
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Easy going, energetic personality and able to listen to direction

This position is open to anyone located within Canada that is willing to relocate to Powell River, British Columbia.
