LTR Contracting Corp. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Roller Operator to join our paving crew.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating asphalt rollers to achieve proper compaction and a high-quality finished surface on paving projects. Applicants should have a strong understanding of asphalt paving procedures, rolling patterns, compaction requirements, and how to work efficiently alongside the paver and paving crew.
Responsibilities
- Operate roller compaction equipment to ensure proper gravel and asphalt density for paving projects
- Use skidsteer for material handling, site clearing, and grade work
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on heavy machinery to ensure safe operation
- Support construction crews with labour tasks such as shovelling, material delivery, plate packing, site cleanup, etc
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment for all team members
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Experience
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as rollers, skid steers, or similar machinery in a construction setting
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Construction experience with paving or roadwork projects preferred
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification is an asset but not required
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with safety procedures on construction sites is highly valued
