We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and manage our transportation safety and compliance program from our Calgary operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and monitor the company’s transportation safety and compliance program in accordance with applicable Alberta and Canadian regulations.

Maintain and monitor driver qualification files, vehicle files, inspection records, training records, abstracts, medical documentation and other required safety records.

Monitor driver compliance with Alberta National Safety Code (NSC) requirements and applicable Canadian transportation regulations.

Review Hours of Service (HOS) records, ELD data, logbooks and identify violations or compliance concerns.

Conduct regular internal audits of driver files, vehicle files, HOS records, trip inspection reports and other safety documentation.

Ensure all drivers complete proper onboarding, safety orientation and required training before operating company equipment.





Monitor daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensure deficiencies are properly reported and corrected.

Track collisions, incidents, violations, complaints and other safety-related events and maintain complete documentation.

Develop and implement corrective actions, retraining and follow-up when safety deficiencies are identified.

Prepare and maintain the company’s Safety and Maintenance Programs and ensure they remain current and compliant.

Assist management with preparation for Alberta Transportation audits, NSC reviews, inspections and compliance requirements.

Monitor driver abstracts, licence status, required certificates and other driver qualifications.

Provide regular safety training and communication to drivers regarding HOS, trip inspections, defensive driving, cargo securement, regulatory requirements and company policies.

Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports for management and identify areas requiring corrective action.

Work closely with dispatch, operations, maintenance and management to identify safety risks and improve overall compliance.

Ensure all safety records are properly organized and readily available for regulatory audits or inspections.

Pay: $50,000.00-$129,578.44 per year
