Tulmar designs, manufactures, and distributes engineered protective textiles and survivability solutions for the Aerospace, Defence, and Public Security industries. Operating from a contemporary 60,000 sq. ft. facility, we combine advanced manufacturing with in-house testing and certification.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join a close-knit, hands-on team. This role blends inspection, testing, and technical quality work, supporting both day-to-day operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Engineering Quality & Manufacturing Systems Manager, you will help ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and technical requirements, while contributing to the strength of our Quality Management System.

This role combines hands-on inspection responsibilities with technical quality analysis and is ideal for individuals with an engineering-oriented background who are looking to contribute to both operational and continuous improvement activities.

Duties & responsibilities:

· Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards

· Operate inspection and testing equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, and specialized equipment)

· Complete and maintain quality documentation (PIPs, NCRs, FAI packages)

· Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and test methods, with support from Engineering and Quality teams

· Provide feedback on manufacturability issues and recurring quality concerns





· Support product and process changes by validating requirements and updating inspection documentation

· Participate in root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone, A3) and support corrective actions

· Contribute to improving inspection plans, processes, and test methods

· Support calibration activities and assist with audits to maintain AS9100 compliance

· Assist in training inspectors and production staff on quality procedures

What you need to succeed:

· Post-secondary education in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, or related field

· 0–3 years of experience in quality, inspection, engineering, or manufacturing (co-op or relevant projects considered)

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and technical specifications

· Understanding of materials, textile or mechanical assembly processes, and testing methods

· Experience with measurement tools and inspection methodologies

· Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality standards

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills

· Ability to manage priorities and work cross-functionally in a regulated environment

· High attention to detail and commitment to product quality

· Must be eligible under the Controlled Goods Program and ITAR (Canadian citizen or permanent resident) and able to obtain a Police Records Check.

· Assets: experience with MIL-SPEC, ASTM, AMS standards; ERP/QMS systems (Macola, e-Synergy)
Pay: CA$45,000.00-CA$60,000.00 per year
