SOMA Chocolatemaker is a small maker of chocolate delights. We have a small but mighty team, passionate about crafting great chocolate and creating joyful customer experiences. We are looking for energetic, hardworking and efficient individuals to join our collaborative team environment.
Start Date: September 28th, 2026
Where: 77 Brock Ave, Toronto, ON (Parkdale Location)
Compensation: $18 per hour
Hours:
- Part time 1-3 days
- Full time 4- 5 days
Duties:
- Customer Experience/Sales: Welcoming customers, guiding them through product and menu selections (including special requests or modifications), and accurately processing cash and card transaction on the POS system
- Beverages/Food Service: Preparing and serving a variety of drinks to standard recipes while maintaining strict adherence to health and safety regulations
- Packaging/Confection Handling: Accurately handling and packaging a wide variety of artisanal chocolates and confections following SOMA guidelines
- Store Upkeep/Inventory: Keeping the retail floor, packing stations, espresso bar, dining areas, and restroom clean and organized; assisting with stock replenishment or products and cafe materials
- Operational Efficiency: Managing multiple tasks with a solid sense of urgency to ensure smooth, productive service during peak periods
- At all times follow all health and safety regulations to ensure proper food handling
Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Minimum 2 years customer service experience
- Barista or specialty food retail experience an asset
- Strong English skills -Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift up to 20kg and comfortably perform repetitive handling tasks
- Calm, composed demeanor and positive attitude under pressure
- Receptive to feedback, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
