Position Overview

Blackmark Protection is seeking professional, dependable, and community-minded Security Concierges for a full-time residential security contract in North York.

This is a unique security position within a residential environment supporting individuals with diverse abilities. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a people-focused setting where patience, professionalism, sound judgment, de-escalation, and respect for residents’ dignity and privacy are equally as important as traditional security skills.

This is not intended to be a highly tactical security role. We are looking for guards who can become a consistent part of the site team, build familiarity with residents and staff, and take genuine ownership and accountability for the safety and security of the facility.

Core Security Responsibilities

- Provide approved concierge, patrol, and security coverage for the site.
- Monitor entrances, common areas, and other assigned security points in accordance with site requirements and post orders.
- Conduct scheduled interior and exterior patrols and document completed guard tours using Blackmark’s security management software.
- Monitor for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, safety concerns, property issues, and other irregularities.
- Respond to and appropriately escalate security incidents, disturbances, unauthorized access, emergencies, and individuals experiencing behavioural or mental-health distress.
- Use communication and de-escalation as the primary approach when managing challenging interactions, while protecting the safety of residents, staff, visitors, and others.
- Coordinate with site staff, property/facility management, Blackmark leadership, and emergency responders as required.
- Complete accurate daily activity logs, patrol records, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Complete electronic clock-in/out and maintain punctual and reliable attendance for all scheduled shifts.
- Protect the confidentiality, dignity,



and privacy of residents, staff, visitors, and site operations.
- Identify and report security, safety, maintenance, or facility concerns observed during the shift.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct consistent with Blackmark and client standards.

Candidate Requirements Successful candidates should demonstrate a calm, mature, and service-oriented approach to security. Requirements include a valid Ontario Security Guard Licence and First Aid/CPR certification, the ability to successfully complete required police/background screening, strong verbal and written English communication skills, and strong report-writing abilities.

Candidates must be comfortable using mobile technology and digital security reporting software, working independently during overnight shifts, and remaining calm and professional during emergencies or challenging interactions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact respectfully with individuals with diverse needs and abilities are essential.

Candidates must have reliable transportation and be available for a full-time rotating 12-hour schedule covering both days and nights.

Experience in residential security, healthcare, social services, community facilities, concierge security, mental-health environments, or other vulnerable-population settings is considered a strong asset.

What Blackmark Is Looking For

Blackmark places significant emphasis on guard consistency and site ownership. Our intention is to build a small, dedicated team whose members work consistent rotations at the same site rather than continually rotating personnel.

Over time, successful guards should know the facility, understand its routines and risk factors, recognize residents and staff, and develop a genuine sense of responsibility for the site.

We are looking for professionals who want a secure, long-term full-time assignment and who take pride in delivering security at a standard that exceeds the industry norm.

Pay: $20.00-$21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 42.0 per week
