Position Overview

We’re hiring an experienced Senior Ironworker to lead crews on large-scale steel erection projects. You’ll work hands-on with structural steel installation, welding, rigging, and blueprint reading, while mentoring apprentices and ensuring safety compliance on every job site.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead in office steel installation crews of varying sizes, manage daily schedules, run toolbox talks, perform hazard assessments
- Install, align, bolt, and weld structural steel components for commercial and industrial projects
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications, establish datum points, and verify site dimensions
- Operate cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment to position heavy steel
- Lead and mentor junior ironworkers, promoting a safety-first culture




- Inspect work for quality and compliance with engineering standards
- Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and other trades to meet deadlines

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience as an Ironworker (structural steel focus)
- Proficiency in welding, bolting, and rigging (CWB certification required)
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
- Valid safety certifications (Fall Protection, WHMIS, First Aid)
- Leadership experience on large-scale construction projects
- Valid driver’s license
