THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Systems Technician with expertise in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of advanced alarms security systems, access control, CCTV and VOIP systems. This role is ideal for a qualified with deep technical knowledge and a proven track record of delivering reliable security infrastructure solutions.
As a senior technician, you will be responsible for leading the setup and upkeep of CCTV, Alarm Systems, Access Control, VOIP and related electronic systems. You will ensure seamless integration with network infrastructure and provide troubleshooting support to guarantee optimal performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain security and communications systems, including CCTV, intrusion detection, access control, and VoIP systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, installation manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in the field, ensuring systems are operating properly and efficiently.
- Perform equipment installations, structured cabling, system integration, and related service work.
- Respond to service calls and manage multiple projects or assignments effectively.
- Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, contractors, and vendors throughout installations and service activities.
- Travel to various job sites as required.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, when required to meet project deadlines or respond to emergency or service calls.
- Follow established procedures, safety requirements, and industry standards while maintaining professional integrity and sound judgment.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining CCTV, alarm, and access control systems.
- Strong proficiency in structured cabling, equipment installation, and systems integration.
- Robust understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, subnetting, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and work independently in the field.
- Experience with telephone systems, including analog, digital, and VoIP systems, is considered an asset. Candidates with strong phone-system experience may be eligible for additional compensation based on their level of expertise.
- Experience with optical fiber, including deploying, splicing,
terminating and troublseshooting is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple service calls or projects effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work professionally with clients, colleagues, contractors, and vendors.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
- Relevant safety certifications, such as Working at Heights, Elevated Platform/Lift, Ladder Safety, WHMIS, and First Aid, are considered an asset.
- Relevant industry certifications, such as CCTV/security technician, access control, alarm technician, or VoIP certifications, are considered an asset.
- Additional training or certifications in IHSA supervision, structured cabling, fiber optics, or related technologies are considered an advantage.
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment within established procedural guidelines and demonstrate professional integrity.

LOCATION: Onsite at our headquarters at 270 Bruce St, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
