Pacific West Mechanical is a well established and growing full service mechanical contractor. Our expertise is in service, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting, of managed commercial and multi-family buildings in the Greater Vancouver Region.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll service a diverse portfolio of commercial and multi-family properties throughout Vancouver, including some of the city’s most prominent buildings. You’ll work with a variety of mechanical systems and technologies, troubleshoot unique challenges, and encounter new opportunities to apply and expand your technical expertise.

In this role, you will provide service, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across a diverse portfolio of buildings and systems. You’ll encounter unique equipment, evolving technologies, and complex mechanical challenges that require strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. This is an opportunity for an experienced technician who wants to continue learning, expand their expertise, and work on interesting and technically challenging systems while being supported by an experienced team.

In This Role, You Will

- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and residential HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair or replace heating, air-handling, refrigeration, and air-conditioning equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and respond to emergency service calls as required.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues and identify effective solutions.
- Read and interpret HVAC wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- Work proactively to identify potential equipment issues and recommend appropriate repairs or improvements.
- Complete service documentation, maintenance records, and job-related reporting accurately and on time.
- Work independently while collaborating with customers, building personnel, dispatch, and other members of the service team.
- Provide support, guidance, and technical knowledge to other technicians and team members as required.
- Lead or assist with training and knowledge-sharing to support the development of the team.




- Maintain a high standard of customer service, professionalism, safety, and workmanship on every job.

To Succeed in This Role Must-Haves

- 10+ years of experience in HVAC/Refrigeration.
- Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certification.
- Class A or B Gas Ticket.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving history.
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ability to read and understand HVAC wiring diagrams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Haves

- Experience working with high-rise buildings.
- Electrical or building automation/controls experience.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or training other technicians.
