United Roofers Inc. is hiring experienced shinglers and dependable roofing labourers for projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area. We are looking for reliable, safety-conscious individuals who take pride in quality workmanship and can work effectively as part of a roofing crew.
Shingler Responsibilities
- Remove and dispose of existing roofing materials
- Install asphalt shingles, starter shingles, underlayment and ice-and-water membrane
- Install valleys, vents, plumbing flashings, drip edge and other roofing components
- Complete accurate cuts, details and finishing work
- Identify damaged roof decking and other potential issues
- Follow manufacturer specifications and company installation standards
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
Roofing Labourer Responsibilities
- Load, unload and organize roofing materials
- Carry shingles, tools and debris safely
- Assist roofers with removal and installation work
- Perform ground cleanup and protect customers’ properties
- Keep tools, equipment, ladders and work areas organized
- Follow instructions from the crew leader and observe all safety requirements
Requirements
- Shinglers must have previous asphalt-shingle roofing experience
- Labouring or construction experience is an asset for labourer applicants
- Comfortable working outdoors, at heights and in changing weather conditions
- Physically capable of lifting roofing materials and performing demanding work
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well with a crew
- Strong attention to safety and workmanship
- Valid Ontario Working at Heights certification is preferred
- Driver’s licence and reliable transportation are preferred
