We are looking for an experienced Shipper/Receiver for our Mississauga (Dundas & 403) office. You will be an essential member of our REM Team and will be directly responsible for shipping and receiving of material, products, services, day-to-day operation of the warehouse and day-to-day inventory management.
Additionally, you will occasionally use a company vehicle to complete local deliveries and pickups.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Shipping / Recieving Lead, theShipper / Reciever will:
- Receive inventory and manage warehouse locations
- Use (pick list) to pull items for service and repair division
- Pick orders and pack parts according to company process
- Pack orders for transport (prepare skid)
- Box and strap major large shipments as per packing procedures
- Fill out way bill
- Call couriers and organize shipping
- Schedule transportation with the best price available while ensuring that shipment arrives on time, as instructed on the pick list
- Complete required shipping documents including Commercial Invoices for US shipments.
- Provide shipping quotes from transport and couriers as required
- Schedule pick-ups
- Load truck with parts when necessary
- Occasionally use a company vehicle to complete local deliveries and pickups.
- Follow-up with tracking numbers-in the “info” area of sales order in SPIRE-reporting to sales team
- Communicate shipping deadlines and delays with sales team
- Document non-conformities by filling out a non-conformance form and submitting to the Quality Manager
- Inspect parts and notify Quality Manager of any issues
- Check items that are back orders (B/O) to verify if they are in stock or to be substituted
- Follow up with purchasing regarding “stale” back ordered items
- In collaboration with Sales and Service, trouble shoot orders and assist in locating the correct and necessary parts or components
- Assist with Inventory Cycle count along with year-end inventory counting
- Notify the Shared Services Manager of any discrepancies with inventory
- Follow up with last minute shipping details with customer prior to shipping BaseVac orders
Required Skills/Experience:
- Hands-on experience booking and managing domestic and cross-border shipments to the US
- Experience recieving, recording and warehousing incoming goods
- Experience working with a computerized inventory management system
- Valid G driver's license.
- Comfortable driving pickup trucks and larger vehicles for local deleries.
- Valid forklift license
- Verbal and written English skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic
- Experience in a team-oriented environment preferred
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities You must be able to:
- Work with urgency to meet deadlines.
- Handle heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Occasoinally bend,
crouch, and kneel
- Work in occasionally noisy environment
