About the Role

Scooters Transfer is looking for a Shop and Yard Manager who knows their way around a heavy duty truck as well as they know their way around a spreadsheet. This isn't a desk job pretending to be hands-on - we need someone who's spent real time turning wrenches, and now wants to run the show: creating and managing work orders, keeping parts and supplies stocked, and making sure the shop and yard crew are organized, safe, and productive.

If you've got Heavy Duty Mechanic experience and you're ready to trade some of the tools for a clipboard (but keep enough grease under your nails to know what a good repair looks like), this is your next move.

What You'll Do

- Create, assign, and track work orders for the shop
- Purchase parts, supplies, and equipment, and keep a handle on inventory
- Organize and supervise mechanics and yard staff, including day-to-day task assignments
- Train and mentor junior techs and yard hands
- Manage warehouse/inventory records and materials handling




- Drive process improvements in the shop and yard
- Oversee equipment inspections and general shop upkeep
- Ensure OHS compliance across shop and yard operations
- Collaborate on parts ordering and e-commerce purchasing as needed

What You Bring
- Heavy Duty Mechanic background (Journeyman ticket an asset, not required)
- Experience managing or leading a shop or yard team
- Comfortable creating and tracking work orders and purchasing parts/supplies
- Comfortable operating a computer/tablet - all work orders and defect reports are managed through our in-house app on Blocks.diy
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Solid understanding of OHS practices
- Organized, self-directed, and good with people

Job Type: Full time Pay: $75,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
