Overview

First Kaska is the economic development corporation of the Liard First Nation. Located in Watson Lake, Yukon, First Kaska provides a range of construction, transportation and energy services to the public and private sector. Its mandate is to stimulate and sustain the local economy, provide jobs and training to Liard First Nations members and members of local communities. We are looking for reliable and experienced drivers to join our team!

Duties

- Safely operate shuttle buses according to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport passengers to designated locations, ensuring safe and timely arrivals and departures.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking and provide courteous, professional customer service throughout the trip.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including checking mechanical systems, fluid levels, tires, lights, safety equipment, and other required components.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and promptly report any mechanical or safety issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and skilled appearance of the bus interior and exterior before and after trips.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, passengers,



and other team members to coordinate schedules and address concerns.
- Follow assigned routes and instructions while adapting to changing road, traffic, and passenger conditions.
- Respond professionally to emergency transportation requests and short-notice assignments.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, commercial driving regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and company policies at all times.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when representing the company with passengers and clients.

Requirements

- Valid Class 1, 2 or 4 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract (required)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Driving experience in Northern Canada is an asset
- Safety tickets (First Aid, TDG, etc.) are an asset
