Job Summary The Steel Building Envelope Installer is responsible for the installation of exterior and interior building-envelope systems on pre-engineered steel buildings, including metal wall cladding, metal roofing, insulation systems, flashings, trims, closures and associated components.

The position requires an understanding of metal building construction, protected work practices, proper installation sequencing, weatherproofing principles and the ability to work accurately from construction drawings and manufacturer specifications.

The installer is expected to complete work safely, efficiently and to a high standard of workmanship while contributing to Apex Company's production schedules and quality-control requirements.

Duties

- Install exterior metal wall panels in accordance with approved drawings and manufacturer specifications.
- Establish proper starting points, panel alignment and layout before installation.
- Maintain consistent panel lines, laps and fastening patterns.
- Cut and modify metal panels around doors, windows, penetrations and building features.
- Install inside and outside corners, base trims, transition trims and other associated flashings.
- Ensure panels remain square, plumb and properly aligned throughout installation.
- Identify damaged, incorrectly sized or defective panels before installation.
- Install metal roof panels on pre-engineered steel buildings.
- Verify roof panel layout, overhangs and fastening locations before installation.
- Install closures,



sealants, butyl tape and other weatherproofing components.
- Maintain proper panel laps and manufacturer-required screw patterns.
- Install ridge caps, rake trim, eave trim and related roof flashings.
- Assist with installation around roof penetrations, curbs, vents and other openings.
- Maintain weather-tight construction throughout the installation process.

Experience

- Proven construction experience with a focus on building envelope or exterior wall systems
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and basic carpentry techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics accurately
- Prior handyman or general labor experience in construction environments preferred
- Physical ability for heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and working at heights safely
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for weatherproofing applications
- Familiarity with construction safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment
