Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Taper to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying finishing coats of plaster, drywall compound, or other materials to create smooth, even surfaces on walls and ceilings. Your expertise will help ensure that interior surfaces are prepared for painting or wallpapering, contributing to the overall quality and aesthetic of our projects.

The ideal candidate is energetic, exact, and eager to contribute to a dynamic construction environment.

Responsibilities

- Apply drywall joint compound and tape to seams and corners, ensuring a seamless finish.
- Sand and smooth surfaces to prepare them for painting or further finishing work.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately execute taping and finishing tasks.
- Use hand tools such as trowels, knives, sanding blocks, and brushes efficiently and safely.
- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to coordinate project timelines and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean work area by organizing tools and disposing of debris regularly.




- Assist with related tasks such as caulking, patching holes, or minor carpentry as needed.

Skills

- Proven experience in construction painting, drywall installation, or finishing work.
- Strong understanding of construction processes with hands-on carpentry skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of drywall techniques including taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing.
- Skilled in caulking to seal joints and gaps for a polished look.
- Handyman experience that demonstrates versatility across various construction tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality finishes.
