We are an established international industrial group specialising in temperature measurement, process instrumentation and industrial sensing solutions.
Following the establishment of our Canadian company, we are looking for a Technical Sales Manager to become our first commercial appointment in Canada and take responsibility for developing the market.
The role
- Manage inbound enquiries generated through our websites and digital marketing
- Advise customers on appropriate technical products and solutions
- Prepare quotations and manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to order
- Develop repeat business and long term customer relationships
- Identify and pursue relevant opportunities within Canadian industry
- Visit customers and prospective customers across Canada where commercially worthwhile
- Build the Canadian customer base and local sales operation
- Take increasing responsibility for the Canadian business as it grows
- Help recruit and lead a small local team over time
This is not a cold calling role.
The focus is on qualified enquiries, existing industry relationships, targeted opportunities and purposeful customer visits.
About you
- Currently living and legally entitled to work in Canada
- Proven sales experience involving physical industrial or technical products
- Existing experience selling to Canadian industrial customers
- Comfortable discussing technical requirements and applications
- Able to demonstrate measurable sales results
- Organised, reliable and consistent with quotations and follow up
- Commercially ambitious and interested in building a business
- Able to travel across Canada when required
- Full Canadian driving licence
Applicants whose experience is primarily in software, SaaS, recruitment or consumer sales are unlikely to be suitable.
Experience in process instrumentation, temperature measurement, sensors, automation or industrial components would be particularly valuable.
