Position Summary The Thread Cop is responsible for inspecting, cleaning, protecting, and managing the integrity of threaded pipe connections used in oilfield operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency by ensuring all tubular components meet company and client specifications before use or transport. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and familiar with oilfield service environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect and verify the condition of pipe threads (both internal and external) for damage, corrosion, or debris.
- Clean, re-dope, and cap/plug threads using approved materials and procedures.
- Apply and remove thread protectors as required for storage, handling, or transport.
- Identify and tag defective pipe or equipment, reporting non-conformities to the Shop Foreman or Quality Control.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection and cleaning activities.
- Operate tools and equipment safely, including thread cleaners, pressure washers, and material-handling devices.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures,



and hazard identification processes.
- Assist with yard organization, loadouts, and general maintenance of work areas.
- Communicate effectively with the operations and logistics teams to ensure workflow efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience in a thread cleaning or pipe inspection role is an asset.
- Knowledge of API thread types and oilfield tubulars preferred.
- Ability to safely handle heavy materials and operate in industrial environments.
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset.
- Valuable communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract (Class 1 or 3 an asset).
- Must be willing to comply with company drug and alcohol policy and pre-employment testing.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
