PWO Canada is an automotive manufacturer that is located in Kitchener, Ontario. Main production is stamping, and MAG Welding. We are currently looking for an experienced and skilled Tool and Die Maker with previous experience in manufacturing (automotive preferred) to join our team. The Position The purpose of the position is to repair and maintain assembly and weld fixtures in order to achieve quality and productivity requirements.

The position takes direction from Supervisors and Team Leads and may provide direction to apprentices, co-ops and other team members.

The position is responsible for his/her work but does not supervise others directly. Work completed by the position impacts the department in the short-term.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma. Certified Tool and Die Maker required.

Knowledge and Skills: The Tool and Die Maker must have good knowledge of, and be able to use, standard toolroom equipment.

These include: drill presses, milling machines, grinders, lathes, overhead cranes, band saws, micrometers, verniers, height gauges. The incumbent must be able to read blueprints and schematics. The candidate should have some knowledge of the building and repair of assembly and weld fixtures.

The position may have to use welding techniques to repair tool steel components. Knowledge of automated weld fixtures, resistance welding and fixture knowledge is an asset. The candidate must be able to lift at least 50lbs.

Communication Skills: The incumbent must have good oral and written communication skills for normal business communication.

Nature and Length of Experience: At least two years of experience beyond certification in a similar industry.

Responsibilities





1. Repairs assembly and weld fixtures by determining the needs and methods, and implements as required.
2. May be required to build and develop new tools and implement product changes based on specifications provided by engineering.

3.The position reviews fixture/tooling blueprints to check for functionality prior to assembly. Assembles tools, analyzing the design prior to installation in cells.
1. Directs junior toolmakers and apprentices. Checks the work of others to ensure the quality of their work.
2. Follows and performs to the instructions as outlined in the Work Area Reference Manual (s) applicable to the department.
3. Follows and performs to the processes and instructions as outlined in the Process House applicable to the department.

This position for a Weekend Days 7:00am-7:00pm and Weekend Nights 7:00pm to 7:00am but also requires shift rotation. We thank everyone that has applied. Only qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.

Pay: $34.88-$40.38 per hour

Experience:
- Tool and Die: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
- Tool and Die Maker Certification (430A) (preferred)
